Codex XBand has launched a Kickstarter project for a smart wearable built into the clasp of a luxury-style rubber watch strap, targeting mechanical-watch owners who want fitness tracking without a second device.
The pitch addresses a social-media trend of pairing Whoop or Fitbit bands with traditional watches, a workaround the company says is often awkward, bulky and uncomfortable in real-world use.
