Around 200 poor people from Rome will join Pope Leo for lunch on July 11 at Borgo Laudato si' in Castel Gandolfo's pontifical gardens.
The day will begin with a Eucharistic celebration using the Liturgy for the Care of Creation, followed by refreshments, a guided visit through the site and a shared meal with the pope.
Church organizers said the event extends an initiative launched in August 2025 and is now planned as an annual gathering, with a different diocese invited each year to bring poor people, refugees, migrants and others in difficulty.
This year's gathering is being organized by the Laudato si' Centre for Higher Education, the Dicastery for the Service of Charity and the Diocese of Rome, framing the outreach as a joint expression of care for creation and human dignity.
