Summary
Warframe’s next major update will send players beyond the Origin system into Tau later this year, centering on Fornax, a ringed Sentient city shown in a roughly 30-minute Tennocon demo.
Brysko — a new detective Warframe voiced by Matthew Mercer — leads that chapter with a revolver, throwable cards and a dog companion, while the update also adds new mission types and a reworked Steel Path-style challenge.
Fornax mixes Blade Runner, Boardwalk Empire and Sopranos influences, with black rain that revives the dead, the drug-like Bloom, and a casino-slum divide shaping a story about addiction and exploitation.
Rebecca Ford said those themes draw on developers’ firsthand experience in London, Ontario, framing Tau as a more uncomfortable but deliberate narrative turn for the 12-year-old MMO.
Digital Extremes also used Tennocon to outline its 2026 fall update, Iceblade of Narin, plus a Banshee rework, new deluxe skins, Citrine Prime and Mesa Prime’s heirloom skin now available.
