Aaron Lewis Says Industry Shunned His July 17 Album Over Politics

Aaron Lewis said on a recent podcast that music executives have effectively frozen him out because of his political beliefs, citing lost Grand Ole Opry invitations and weak support for his new release.
The 54-year-old Staind frontman said “everything’s too political now” and argued the industry has “no problem turning its back on me” because of his outspoken patriotism.
Lewis tied that complaint to his sixth studio album, “Give My Country Back,” due July 17, saying fans may have to search for it because he expects little help from the industry machine.
The interview also cast his grievance in a wider culture-war debate: Vanilla Ice, booked for America’s 250th celebrations, separately said entertainers should not be dragged into politics after other acts dropped out.
