TDS Donates 2 Years of High-Speed Internet to Albany Library as 1 Gig Upgrade Expands

Albertson Memorial Library will receive two years of high-speed internet from TDS, a donation aimed at expanding reliable online access for Albany residents who rely on the library.
Library director Melissa Everson said patrons use the library’s public computers daily, including people without internet at home, making the service important for basic access.
TDS broke ground in mid-2025 on a multi-year Albany-area network upgrade to deliver at least 100 Mbps and up to 1 Gig service across its footprint.
The buildout is backed by the FCC’s E-ACAM program for 100/20 Mbps-or-faster broadband in rural areas, with TDS also adding private investment and earlier donating $1,000 to Albany Elementary School.
