Summary
June 16 cockpit alerts show the NetJets Citation Latitude developed fast-moving right-side fuel and electrical failures before both engines flamed out on final approach to Laredo, according to the NTSB’s preliminary report.
Earlier in the flight, the crew reported an unusual vibration and humming sound, completed a checklist for an ADC warning, then continued toward Austin after maintenance staff linked it to an avionics cooling fan.
About 1 mile from Laredo International Airport, the jet landed on Bob Bullock Loop after tower said no open field was available; it struck light poles and a vehicle, killing 1 passenger and injuring 6 others.
Investigators found fractured P-clamps and a separated right-engine fuel pressure switch assembly, along with a damaged Safran starter generator missing multiple exterior screws and showing internal breakage.
Flight and cockpit recorders have been sent to Washington for analysis, and the NTSB said weather was not a significant factor and no probable cause has yet been determined.
