An emergency call from that day reportedly described “CPR in progress” and “cardiac arrest,” fueling questions about whether the 84-year-old senator suffered a heart attack.
McConnell’s office has offered only a July 2 statement saying he is improving and working with staff, while Senate Republicans including John Thune and John Barrasso say they spoke with him this week.
