Normand Fisher, father of Blue Jays reliever Braydon Fisher, died Monday at 65 after suffering a stroke while the team was on a California road trip.
California was a personal stop for Norm Fisher, who grew up in Vanden and had just visited high school friends before falling ill on his way back into San Francisco.
Braydon Fisher, 25, has been on the bereavement list and said Wednesday his father was an "amazing" constant supporter who loved baseball and rarely went without Blue Jays gear.
Toronto has helped the family with flights, hotels and time away, and Fisher is expected to be activated during the Blue Jays' series against the San Diego Padres.
Fisher is in his second MLB season and has become a key bullpen arm, posting a 3.33 ERA in 43 games after going 7-0 with a 2.70 ERA over 52 appearances last year.
