Thunder Rosa told Fox News Digital that Persephone has been the "breakout star of the year," citing the CMLL champion's rise after years of work on the independent scene.
Persephone, already CMLL world women’s champion, Universal Amazons champion and 2025 Grand Prix de Amazonas winner, has expanded beyond Mexico with appearances in AEW, Ring of Honor and Maple Leaf Wrestling.
Rosa said Persephone has grown since 2020, won over fans in Mexico City despite working as a heel, and adapted well to American-style wrestling.
That momentum has continued in recent weeks with a spot in AEW’s Survival of the Fittest match for the TBS title and a newly accepted challenge from Tessa Blanchard for the CMLL Women’s Championship.
