Summary
Five Birmingham organizations and small businesses were selected for the inaugural Birmingham Workforce Partner Accelerator, a six-month program run by the city and Battle Plan Strategic Consulting.
The cohort was chosen after a three-month competitive process to help participants build, fund and launch workforce programs connecting residents to quality jobs and career pathways.
The five participants are Down By Law, The Link Workforce Training Center, New Path Health Career Center, Rebirth Community Corporation and Iron City Iron Works Inc.
The accelerator runs from July through December 2026 across six sectors, including IT, healthcare, advanced manufacturing and construction trades, with training in grant writing, data, partnerships and pitch preparation.
A Dec. 9 Demo Day will cap the program, with participants pitching to city leaders, funders and employers for $9,250 in cash prizes, including $5,000 for first place.
