That chip rally faded in the speculative corner, with Micron and Sandisk both down more than 2%, leaving the Dow relatively insulated because it has little direct semiconductor exposure.
Treasury yields pulled back as oil halted its rebound, easing fears of another Fed rate hike and giving financials and other traditional sectors room to recover; Delta rose 2% after strong earnings and a dividend increase.
