Pinarello Launches £12,500 Dogma X With Aero Upgrades and 35mm Tire Clearance

Pinarello’s new Dogma X looks less like a missed opportunity than a deliberate, narrowly defined endurance road bike. The update makes it better at that job. Moving to 35mm tire clearance, adding UDH compatibility, revising the X seat stay and using the same Toray M40X carbon as the Dogma F all strengthen its case as a premium long-distance road machine. At a claimed 994g for the frameset and 7.14kg for a test bike with pedals and cages, it is unusually light for an endurance model, while its relaxed geometry should suit riders who want speed without the Dogma F’s aggressive fit. The trade-off is clear. Pinarello has chosen not to follow the broader all-road trend, where rivals such as the Specialized Roubaix, Giant Defy and other endurance bikes now push toward 38mm to 40mm-plus clearance and greater mixed-surface versatility. By stopping at 35mm, the Dogma X remains capable on rough tarmac, broken roads and light hardpack, but it does not fully bridge into gravel or true all-road territory. That means whether it is “perfect” depends on the rider. For cyclists who want a fast, light, highly refined endurance road bike with some extra comfort and tire volume, the Dogma X is close to ideal. For buyers seeking one bike to cover road, poor surfaces and more adventurous mixed-terrain riding, Pinarello’s restraint will look like a missed chance.

£12,500 is the starting price for Pinarello’s new Dogma X full builds, positioning the endurance bike firmly at the top end of its road range; the frame alone starts at £5,500.
Aero changes drive the update: an elliptical steerer, wider head tube, narrower tapered down tube and enclosed fork dropouts are meant to cut drag while boosting torsional and lateral stiffness.
The revised X-Stay 2.0 seatstay layout drops the attachment point lower on the seat tube, which Pinarello says improves vibration dispersion and limits rebound for a more controlled ride on rough roads.
Built from the same Torayca M40X carbon as the Dogma F, the bike comes in 11 sizes, adds UDH compatibility and 35mm tire clearance, extending its all-road brief while keeping a premium race-oriented identity.
