Other evidence remains relevant, including Ring camera metadata showing a masked man outside the home and blood found on Nancy Guthrie’s porch. But the DNA is the most critical clue because it offers the best chance of identifying a specific suspect through forensic comparison, genealogy, or database matching if the sample can be successfully isolated.

Five substitute hosts appeared across NBC's July 8 TODAY lineup, with Sheinelle Jones joining Craig Melvin for the 7-9 a.m. block and Laura Jarrett and Savannah Sellers taking over the Third Hour.
Angie Lassman handled weather in place of Al Roker, and Kaylee Hartung filled Carson Daly's Pop Start slot, while Craig said each regular host was simply "off" without further explanation.
NBC gave no reason for the absences, though the report noted common causes can include health issues, assignments, network work or vacation; several anchors had also worked the show's July 4 special from Governors Island.
Savannah Guthrie's time away has drawn added attention because she previously took February and March off after her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared in Tucson on Feb. 1; the FBI is now leading that investigation.
