A second report now says Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 8—expected on July 22, 2026—could be the last clamshell foldable in the lineup, reinforcing a similar claim from last month.
The reported reason is a strategic shift toward the Galaxy Z Fold series, which would make the Z Flip the second major Samsung phone line discontinued after the Galaxy Note.
The same leak says the Z Flip 8 will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, though earlier reports suggested some regions could still get Samsung’s Exynos 2600.
If Samsung ends the series it launched in 2020, the move would narrow its foldable portfolio around book-style devices rather than clamshell models.
