Summary

  • Uganda’s Health Ministry reported a positive Marburg case on July 4, adding another hemorrhagic-fever threat as Ebola cases linked to the DRC continue crossing the border.

  • Ituri remains the center of the DRC outbreak, but confirmed cases have also spread to Haut-Uele, North Kivu and South Kivu, widening the regional containment challenge.
  • 89 facilities supported by International Medical Corps have carried out 121,777 Ebola screenings and treated 422 patients, including 132 confirmed cases, while 2,208 people in the DRC have been trained on response protocols.
  • South Sudan still has no confirmed Ebola cases, but responders say porous borders and transient populations keep the risk of a wider regional outbreak high.
