Summary
Samsung says the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy lifts NPU performance 39%, alongside 24% faster GPU rendering and 19% higher CPU speed.
That chip upgrade underpins on-device AI features including lock-screen Now Brief and Now Bar, Call Screening with live transcripts in 13 languages, and Bixby-driven automation.
A 5,000mAh battery charges from 0% to 75% in about 30 minutes with a 60W adapter, while Samsung says faster AI processing reduces battery load.
Privacy Display is exclusive to the Ultra, and Samsung says Galaxy AI tasks are processed on-device where supported, backed by Knox, the Personal Data Engine and Knox Vault.
Across the S26 lineup, core AI tools are shared, but the Ultra adds higher-end hardware including a 200-megapixel main camera, 50-megapixel telephoto and APV video support.
