That helps the robot reach under low furniture and cross difficult transitions, but reviews indicate the trade-off is navigation that is solid rather than class-leading in efficiency. The same packaging constraints likely explain the smaller onboard dustbin. Independent testing cited a 260 mL bin, well below the roughly 377 mL category average. With more internal space devoted to the lift system, sensors, mopping hardware, and a compact chassis, there is less room left for debris storage. In practice, Roborock offsets that with the self-emptying RockDock, which reduces the impact for most users but does not eliminate it in homes with heavy pet hair or larger debris loads. So the compromise appears intentional: the Saros 20 is engineered to solve access problems—high thresholds, thick rugs, low-clearance furniture—while relying on its dock and software to make up for average route efficiency and a smaller bin.
