Five South Jersey stations have joined the Freedom Fuel Network, with two in Egg Harbor Township identified over the holiday weekend after the program launched without naming locations.
At Upgrading Image in Egg Harbor Township, regular unleaded was posted at $3.479 Monday, versus $3.859 at a Royal Farms across the street and $3.799 for New Jersey on average.
That roughly 40-cent discount saves about $6 on a 15-gallon fill-up, extending a July 3 promotion Trump described as a gift to drivers in the Philadelphia area.
Gas prices remain elevated because wholesale fuel is still about 90 cents a gallon above pre-Iran conflict levels, even after pump prices retreated about 50 cents as Strait of Hormuz shipping resumed.
The New Jersey locations listed on the network website are in Egg Harbor Township, Marlton, West Berlin and Little Egg Harbor Township, though it is still unclear how long the discounts will last.
