GoPro Launches $599 MISSION 1 Cameras With 8K60 Video and 1-Inch Sensor

GoPro unveiled a three-model MISSION 1 lineup starting at $599, marking its push beyond action cameras into professional cinematography.
The new series centers on a 50MP 1-inch sensor and GP3 processor, which GoPro says improve low-light shooting, dynamic range and runtime versus the HERO13 Black.
The $699 MISSION 1 PRO adds 8K60 and nearly 1,000fps slow motion, while the PRO ILS supports interchangeable Micro Four Thirds lenses for higher-end production use.
GoPro also highlighted creator-focused features including Open Gate capture for 4K horizontal or vertical crops, a 2,150mAh Enduro 2 battery with more than 5 hours at 1080p/30, and 20-meter waterproofing on the base and Pro models.
The launch positions GoPro to compete in compact cinema cameras while keeping its rugged, wearable design aimed at outdoor and action-focused filmmakers.
