Camano Farm Ashram Launches 5-Month South Camano Farmers Market With 7 Vendors

Through September, the South Camano Grange Farmers Market will run on the last Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., giving Camano Island’s south end a new regular market.
Seven vendors joined the first market in May, including farms, strawberry, sourdough, jewelry and plant sellers, as organizers test whether demand can support a recurring farmers-focused event.
Zachary and Peony Abbey of Camano Farm Ashram are co-managing the project with the South Camano Grange, aiming to keep it small and focused rather than outgrowing customer turnout.
The market is being paired with the Grange’s long-running pancake breakfast, and organizers say early turnout and feedback have been positive, with honey vendors and a designated music area planned next.
