Trump shared an edited image of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Truth Social with the caption “Restraining order needed,” escalating their public feud on Sunday.
More than 100 posts in eight hours formed part of his post-July Fourth social media burst, with the meme implying Meloni is fixated on him.
The clash began after Trump said at last month’s G7 summit in France that Meloni had begged for a photo, a claim she called “completely made-up.”
Meloni then accused Trump of mistreating allies while showing more indulgence to U.S. adversaries, and later told him on Instagram to focus on his own popularity.
The spat marks a sharp break from earlier warmth between the two right-wing leaders, who had previously expressed mutual admiration.
