Naomi Osaka beat world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-2 7-6 on Centre Court, reaching her first Wimbledon quarter-final and handing Sabalenka her earliest Grand Slam exit since the 2022 French Open.
Sabalenka was booed after blasting a ball out of the stadium on match point, then said she had resisted smashing her racket and was "not satisfied with anything" about her performance.
Osaka overpowered her throughout: Sabalenka failed to earn a single break point, lost in straight sets at a major for the first time since the 2020 US Open, and saw her run of 21 straight Grand Slam tiebreak wins end.
The result sends Osaka into a first major quarter-final away from hard courts and leaves the women's draw set to produce a new Wimbledon champion for a 10th straight year.
