Summary
A 36-year-old man was arrested a week after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly pushed into bushes and seriously sexually assaulted in Glasgow's Springburn Park.
Police said the attack happened between 8:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on June 26 near the Moongate on the park's northeast side as the girl was walking alone.
The arrest followed extensive enquiries after officers circulated a description of a man wearing a black baseball cap, black lightweight jacket and black trousers.
Detective Inspector Sharon McPeake said the case had alarmed the local community, thanked the public for assistance and said officers would keep engaging with residents.
