Summary
A Purdue conference paper analyzing more than 500,000 anonymized English-language WildChat conversations found one user spent months generating thousands of near-identical Doki Doki Literature Club pregnancy stories, usually featuring Natsuki and a daughter named Sakura.
More than a third of the chats involved fiction generation, and researchers split heavy users into “story cyclers” and “infinite story demanders” who repeatedly requested the same scenario for long stretches.
Just 2% of users in the fiction subset accounted for more than 80% of those conversations, showing how a small group of power users dominated AI fanfic activity.
Doki Doki Literature Club, League of Legends, Freedom Planet and Naruto were the most requested fandoms in the dataset, a pattern the study said differed sharply from human-written fanfic trends on Archive of Our Own.
