China Coast Guard Rotates East Taiwan Patrol Group, Xiushan Replacing Daishan After June Missions

CCGS Xiushan took over on Saturday from the CCGS Daishan-led task group to continue China coast guard law-enforcement patrols in waters east of Taiwan.
The coast guard said the Daishan group had operated there since June, carrying out patrols, vessel inspections, fishery protection and rescue missions.
Daishan will still conduct law-enforcement operations in waters China says fall under its jurisdiction, as Beijing links the patrols to defending territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.
