Collectors Universe Faces California Class Action Over Wage Statements and Off-the-Clock Work

Orange County Superior Court is hearing a class action, Case No. 30-2026-01572521-CU-OE-CXC, accusing Collectors Universe of California labor-code violations tied to employee pay and break practices.
The complaint alleges workers missed meal breaks, performed off-the-clock work, and received inaccurate itemized wage statements that failed to reflect all hours and pay periods.
California Labor Code sections 226, 1194, 1197 and 1197.1 require accurate wage statements and payment for all time worked, including minimum wages when unpaid time does not qualify for overtime.
The suit was filed by Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP on July 3 and remains pending, with the allegations not yet adjudicated.
