A Michigan federal district court stayed and administratively closed Acrisure of California’s breach-of-contract claims against a former employee over noncompete and non-solicitation covenants.
The pause will remain in place while the former employee pursues an interlocutory appeal of a preliminary injunction entered in the case.
The court said the contract claims and the injunction issues are too intertwined to be reviewed simultaneously by the district court and the appellate court.
That ruling effectively freezes the merits litigation for now, shifting the case’s next key step to the appeal.
