Summary
A 110-minute Sword Art Online anime special, “Unanswered//butterfly,” will air on July 5 at 8 p.m. Japan time as a limited-run promotion for the game Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad.
Polygon Pictures produced the feature, which tells an original Aincrad story centered on Emilun and Rex rather than continuing the main TV anime or film storyline.
Abema’s Anime Special Channel will stream it again on July 9 at 8 p.m., but the report says there will be no later replay; Ultimate edition buyers can also watch it with the game.
That push leads into Echoes of Aincrad’s July 9 release, an action JRPG set in Aincrad where players create a hero, choose gear and fight alongside a partner.
