Trenton Postpones July 4 Parade and Festival Over Extreme Heat, Delaying America 250 Event

Trenton on Friday delayed its July 4 parade and festival, saying dangerous heat in the forecast made proceeding unsafe.
City officials have not set a new date for Trenton's America 250 Parade & Festival and said they will announce one once arrangements are finalized.
Mayor W. Reed Gusciora said the event matters to the community and the nation's 250th anniversary, but public health and safety took priority.
The city urged residents to stay hydrated, avoid peak afternoon outdoor activity, and check on older adults and other people vulnerable to heat-related illness.
