Tay Keith, the Memphis rap producer born Brytavious Lakeith Chambers, was found dead June 18 in his Nashville apartment at age 29.
The report offers no cause of death and frames the loss as a major blow to hip-hop, noting he was still in his prime.
Keith broke into the mainstream with BlocBoy JB and Drake's 2018 hit "Look Alive," which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped make his producer tag widely recognizable.
In 8 years, he became an A-list producer with a Billboard No. 1 on Travis Scott's "SICKO MODE," credits spanning Beyoncé to Moneybagg Yo, and recent work with Sexyy Red and Key Glock.
