Seiko Unveils 1 Million-Hour Star Time Watch for Shohei Ohtani

Seiko introduced a one-off Star Time watch for Shohei Ohtani, the brand’s first unique piece made specifically for the Dodgers star rather than a commercial release.
Five concentric discs show current time and elapsed time up to 1 million hours—about 114 years—reflecting Ohtani’s request for a watch symbolizing the span of his career.
The display uses an automatic movement with a new module, while the 24-hour inner disc highlights Ohtani’s No. 17 in red and the outer discs rotate almost imperceptibly over 1,000 to 1,000,000 hours.
Built for daily wear, the watch has a 41.8 mm high-intensity titanium case, 17.4 mm thickness, 100 m water resistance and a silicon strap with titanium clasp.
The project marks an unusual, more conceptual design for typically conservative Seiko, extending a partnership with Ohtani that began in 2016.
