Summary
BBC will pair its exclusive live broadcast of England’s World Cup last-16 match against Mexico at 01:00 BST on Monday with a spoiler-free replay from 07:10 on BBC Two and on-demand access from 06:00 on iPlayer.
The “Stay Up or Catch Up” offer is aimed at fans unable to watch overnight, with BBC also adding Radio 5 Live commentary, live text and clips, a 15-minute highlights show and its 3D match experience.
Alex Kay-Jelski said the package is designed to let audiences follow one of England’s biggest matches “on their terms” despite the late kick-off.
Audience demand has been strong: England’s 2-1 win over DR Congo drew a peak 16.3 million viewers, while pubs in England and Wales can stay open until 05:00 and Thomas Tuchel has urged parents to let children stay up.
