Google search data from April 2025 to April 2026 put Halo Top as the most-searched ice cream brand across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., in an Innerbody Research study released during National Ice Cream Month.
Halo Top’s appeal centers on lower calories, less sugar and added protein, with experts saying consumers increasingly want “guilt-free” indulgence in a GLP-1-era food culture.
Food analysts said improved formulation technology and social media exposure have helped healthier ice creams taste closer to traditional products and sparked curiosity among shoppers.
Search interest still did not match sales leadership: Dairy Foods Magazine said Breyers, Blue Bunny and Turkey Hill were the top-selling brands by dollar sales in 2025.
With 97% of Americans saying they like or love ice cream and average consumption near 20 pounds a year, experts said shoppers should still scrutinize health claims and ingredients such as erythritol.
