Project Purple has risen past 320 feet at Six Flags Great Adventure, making the under-construction coaster the tallest structure in the New Jersey park ahead of its planned 2027 debut.
Six Flags said vertical construction remains on schedule and the ride will keep rising, with the finished coaster expected to rank among the world's tallest.
The park has not released the coaster's official name or full stats, but said it will feature multiple launches and a ride experience unlike anything else in North America.
Construction is set to continue through 2026 before months of testing, as the project replaces Kingda Ka, the 456-foot launch coaster demolished in early 2025.
Online reaction has shifted from skepticism to excitement as the bright purple structure becomes visible for miles and takes shape.
