Summary
San Diego hosts AEW Dynamite on July 1 with MJF putting the world title on the line against Mark Briscoe in the first show of the 4-week build to Redemption on July 26.
Briscoe earned the shot after Team Briscoe beat Team DCMJF in a 12-man steel cage war at Forbidden Door, and the matchup carries extra danger because MJF has never kicked out of Briscoe’s Jay Driller.
A second title development is guaranteed: a 6-woman Survival of the Fittest elimination match will crown a new TBS champion from Kris Statlander, Hikaru Shida, Harley Cameron, Queen Aminata, Maika and Persephone.
The title picture remains crowded beyond Briscoe, with Kenny Omega, Andrade, Kevin Knight and others circling MJF’s belt as AEW heads toward Redemption and later All In London.
