Apple Notes now spans 11 advanced functions beyond basic note-taking, with Apple Intelligence adding proofreading, rewriting, summarizing and text-to-bullets tools directly inside the iPhone app.
Built-in organization features push it toward a knowledge-management role: users can tag notes, pin key items, create smart folders and link notes together with ">>" to build an internal knowledge base.
The app also handles utility tasks that might otherwise require separate software, including call recording and transcription in supported regions, document scanning and signing, Quick Notes capture, and Math Notes calculations.
Sharing and security round out the system, with Face ID or passcode locks, collaboration tools, and export options including Markdown, PDF and plain text across Apple devices.
