Summary
Patrick Moebel, who led FedEx Logistics for nearly six years, will replace Matthieu Friedberg as chief of Ceva Logistics, CMA CGM said Wednesday.
The leadership change comes a day after Ceva disclosed plans to buy FedEx Supply Chain, a warehousing and distribution business CMA CGM sees as central to expanding in North America.
Ceva is already the world's fifth-largest third-party logistics provider by gross revenue, with 110,000 employees in 170 countries and a strong position in automotive logistics.
CMA CGM has spent the past decade turning itself from an ocean carrier into an end-to-end logistics group, adding assets including Bollore Logistics, Gefco, Ingram Micro's services unit and Turkey's Borusan Tedarik.
Friedberg, who ran Ceva for six years and integrated several acquisitions, moves to a CMA CGM transformation role overseeing AI, cybersecurity, startup accelerator Zebox and consulting arm CMA Conseil.
