€54.5 million from Peter’s Pence was deployed in 2025, with €41.2 million supporting the Holy See’s work and €13.3 million funding direct aid projects.
The fund reported €57.6 million in income against €59.8 million in expenses, leaving a €2.2 million deficit that the disclosure attributed to foreign-exchange swings.
252 projects in 74 countries received the €13.3 million in direct assistance, including church and school construction, Gaza aid and humanitarian support for Ukrainians.
Africa drew the largest regional share at €5.2 million for 73 projects, ahead of Asia at €3 million, Europe at €2.6 million and the Americas at €2.4 million.
Donations totaled €54.5 million, led by dioceses at €34.7 million; the United States was the biggest national source at €14.2 million as Peter’s Pence covered only about 10% of the Holy See’s €404.5 million apostolic-mission costs.
