Palantir Posts 9-Point AI Sovereignty Manifesto, Attacking Tokenmaxxing

Palantir on Tuesday published a 9-point manifesto on X arguing that “AI sovereignty” should guide institutions’ technology choices and warning against handing critical decisions to outside providers.
The post says companies should keep data and model weights in-house because those assets embody institutional knowledge and future competitive advantage, and outsourcing them risks exploitation by vendors.
Palantir also attacks “tokenmaxxing” — maximizing AI token spend — as an “addictive” form of false progress that favors disposable scripts over durable software and value-based outcomes.
Alex Karp has been sharpening that critique for weeks, saying in June that frontier AI companies are unlikeable and that their products often fail to work as customers expect.
