Euro Area Inflation Slows to 2.8% in June as Energy Prices Ease

Summary
Euro area annual inflation is estimated at 2.8% in June, down from 3.2% in May in Eurostat’s flash reading.
Energy still posted the fastest price growth at 8.7%, but that was down from 10.8% in May; services inflation also eased to 3.2% from 3.5%.
Food, alcohol and tobacco slowed to 1.6% from 1.9%, while non-energy industrial goods held steady at 0.9%.
Eurostat said the full June HICP dataset will be released on July 17, with the euro-area aggregate now reflecting Bulgaria’s entry from EA20 to EA21 in 2026.
