Route 44 in Salisbury shut for hours Tuesday after a tractor-trailer overturned around 5:39 a.m. near Twin Lakes Road, scattering thousands of beer cans across the roadway.
State police said the truck veered off the road and rolled over, sustaining significant damage and spilling a load of Michelob Ultra and Bud Light.
Photos showed the trailer on its side as crews cleared what police called a large volume of debris and removed the damaged truck.
Firefighters, EMS, transportation, consumer protection and towing crews joined the cleanup, while the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was not notified of the crash, according to local reports.
