Summary
Gemini Spark is rolling out on macOS in beta for Google AI Ultra subscribers 18 and older in the US, letting users automate desktop tasks across local files, apps and Google Workspace.
The Mac version can act beyond the chat window—sorting PDFs, building spreadsheets from saved invoices and scheduling updates—while Google says Spark only accesses files users explicitly permit.
Seven new integrations—Google Tasks, Google Keep, Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable and Zillow Rentals—are arriving on web and mobile over the next week, with macOS support to follow in coming weeks.
Spark also now tracks topics in real time across news, social media, finance, shopping, weather, sports and email, sending updates such as match recaps or stock-threshold alerts as events happen.
Google said support for custom Model Context Protocol connections is also rolling out, and remote task execution from a phone to a Mac is coming soon.
