The Vitamin Shoppe said searches for “liver health” on its website rose 700% from January to June 2026, while sales of top liver supplements Dose and ReviveMD climbed 160% and 80%.
A 2,000-adult survey released with the report found 53% of Americans now rank liver health as very important, reflecting broader consumer focus on prevention and routine bloodwork.
Doctors linked that interest to rising obesity and diabetes, more cases of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, heavier drinking during the pandemic, and last fall’s approval of two MASLD drugs.
Hepatologists said evidence shows little benefit from liver supplements and warned some can be harmful, urging weight control, Mediterranean-style eating, exercise, limited alcohol, and testing for at-risk patients.
The trend extends beyond one retailer: CVS said sales of its 11 liver-specific products rose 40% in 2025, while TikTok liver-health hashtags drew 161.5 million views in the past 90 days.
