Witkoff Insults 1 Lawmaker and Cuts Her Mic on Iran Call

Rep. Madeleine Dean said Steve Witkoff called her “smarta--ed” and “stupid” and cut her microphone during a bipartisan Monday call on the Iran war.
Dean said the clash erupted after she pressed Witkoff on Trump’s 14-point Iran memorandum, asking who wrote it, why it favored Tehran and how his business interests overlapped with his envoy role.
The memo she challenged reportedly leaves Iran room on remaining uranium, offers access to a $300 billion reconstruction fund and seeks 60 days of safe commercial passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
Dean said members on the lawmakers’ call were outraged by Witkoff’s language and that Democrats would likely investigate his dual role if they win back the House after November.
The episode lands as renewed attacks threaten any ceasefire framework and regional officials from Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia push to use the MOU to reopen Hormuz and prevent an Iranian nuclear weapon.
