Outside Groups Pour $3 Million Into DeGette Race as Kiros Gains on Insurgent Wave

Summary
$3 million in outside spending hit the Colorado contest over the past month, with about $2.3 million backing Rep. Diana DeGette or attacking Shad Murib-backed challenger Kiros and $1.3 million arriving since Monday.
That late money reflects Democratic alarm that Kiros' anti-establishment push is gaining traction; one strategist said DeGette's private polling looked weak and described the race as fighting "against a wave."
Kiros' campaign says New York's recent upset boosted donations, attention and volunteers, and it plans more than 60 canvasses before Tuesday after claiming support from more than 5,000 volunteers.
The scramble has widened beyond the House race: the same strategist said Sen. John Hickenlooper was in a dead heat with Gonzales in Denver, even as a late-May public poll showed Hickenlooper up 41% to 34%.
