Summary
On The Bill Simmons Podcast, Taylor Sheridan said Marvel films rely on “information dumps” and accused Hollywood executives of breaking basic storytelling rules because they cannot crack the story.
Sheridan argued many studio and network bosses are marketers or lawyers who know “nothing” about development, then bury projects in tone meetings, endless rewrites and premature character notes.
Paramount’s Yellowstone architect said he built his career by avoiding industry shortcuts and told the studio his job was to deliver shows that “common people” would understand, not chase Emmy awards.
Sheridan also dismissed poor reviews of hits including Yellowstone and Landman, saying he sometimes “rage-baits” critics and cares more about moving viewers than pleasing awards voters or reviewers.
