5,000 nits of peak brightness is the headline rumored upgrade for Samsung's Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, a jump of about 66% from the first Ultra model launched two years ago.
Ice Universe said the watch would keep a 1.5-inch 480 x 480 display at 327ppi, with Samsung possibly using OLED and its on-cell film technology to improve outdoor visibility.
IP69K protection is also rumored, upgrading from IP68 and adding resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets as well as dust.
Other tipped specs include Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, an 800mAh battery and Wear OS 7-based One UI 9 Watch, pointing to a broader hardware and software refresh.
