Iga Swiatek looks in more trouble than Jannik Sinner. Sinner’s concerns are real, but they are mainly physical uncertainty after his French Open collapse in the heat and a lack of match play since then. Even so, the broader picture around him remains strong: he is still the men’s favorite, his grass game is now viewed as a major asset, and his draw is considered relatively clean in the early rounds. The main question is whether his body holds up, not whether his level is there. Swiatek’s issues appear deeper and more immediate. She has been out of rhythm for months, lost in the first round of her only grass event this season, and admitted after Roland Garros that she felt tense and had lost control of matches. That points to a form and confidence problem rather than a one-off physical scare. On grass, where margins are smaller and adaptation matters more, that is especially dangerous. Her draw also gives her less room to recover. She opens against the awkward Taylor Townsend, could quickly run into stronger grass-court opposition, and is projected to face Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals. Serena Williams is also a possible early-round complication. By contrast, Sinner’s projected route does not show the same early volatility. So while Sinner’s fitness is the bigger single risk, Swiatek’s combination of poor form, shaky confidence and a trickier path makes her title defense look more vulnerable overall.
