China Says It Can Withstand EU Trade Freeze as EV Subsidy Probe Hardens Stance

Summary
China said it could endure a further deterioration—or even a freeze—in economic and trade ties with the European Union if talks are treated as a formality.
Yuyuantantian, a social-media account affiliated with state broadcaster CCTV, said the EU shifted its approach after the electric-vehicle subsidy probe and is now using pressure and conditions to strengthen its negotiating position.
The account accused the bloc of acting as a “rule-breaker,” arguing its claimed normative power is weakening as it increasingly writes rules that create barriers to approvals and market access.
The remarks signal Beijing is framing any deeper trade rupture with Europe as manageable, even as the EV dispute broadens into a wider challenge over market access and negotiating leverage.
