Burgum Vows Full Prosecution After 7 Arrested in 350-Foot Lincoln Reflecting Pool Vandalism

Seven people have been arrested after vandals allegedly slashed a 350-foot gash into the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and left anti-Trump graffiti, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said Saturday.
Burgum said investigators believe a box cutter cut the pool's industrial rubber liner; authorities have also issued multiple citations and filed 18 police reports tied to the damage.
Fencing now surrounds the Reflecting Pool as repairs and the investigation continue, with officials also securing the area ahead of July 4 fireworks planned on both sides of the monument.
The vandalism hit as the Trump administration says it is restoring Washington before the 250th anniversary, citing work on more than 50 parks and circles, 48 monuments, 22 fountains and about 1,700 lights.
